Gig News: Adriana Evans finally comes to the UK… man she took her time

Super quick post before so say Adriana Evans is finally coming to the UK for a gig.  She will be playing The Jazz Cafe on June 25th.  I have been waiting for Ms. Evans to bring her super-soulful and sweet music to the UK.  She literally stole my breath with a song Underneath The Stars back in 2007 and I have been waiting for her to come over to these colder climates since.

Tickets are £22.50, which is potentially a little steep.  I would have priced this gig more in the region of £14-£18, however if you have the spare change it should be a special evening, as long as she plays hits from all the albums.

Definitely recommended; especially lovers of smooth and elegant neo-soul without any of the thrills or clichés.

Song of the Week: Weatherman

Adriana Evans: Weatherman

So all the buzz at the moment is on Sade’s return, Soldier or Love, however Feb. 8th is also an important date because it marks the UK release date for Adriana Evan’s latest album, Walking In The Night.

On the lead single, Weatherman, she is in familiar territory with a live band and a summers breeze of a funk/soul feel;  definitely helps now the snows returned!
