Floetry may be gone… but Marsha Ambrosius lives on. The singing half of the Neo-Soul-super-group that was Floetry is preparing to release her début solo album.
Internet buzz and pre-release tracks have been very promising (especially on Far Away) and it looks like she will be picking up where the London duo left off before they split.
She is playing Dingwalls, Camden (one of my favourite venues), on Monday December 27th. Tickets are a pretty steep £19 (+fees) (and available through Music Glue here). However, given the show Floetry put on at the Jazz Cafe a few years ago now it should be good value. Also, if her album blows, and it probably will, she will be commanding a much higher premium and much larger venue in the future. You have been warned.
