Arguably one of the best lyracists in hip-hop at the moment comes to London for a solo show in July. Being a team player has seen a resurgent Royce in recent months. In Bad Meets Evil the Detroit rapper teams up with his long term buddy Eminem and outshines the multi-platinum selling artists time and time again. With Slaughter House he goes toe-to-to with three of the finest lyracists in the game, each continually raising the bar on the other. Royce’s hip-hop is raw and vivid and he seems to be reaching his peak at the moment.
He’s lyrical beast and it’ll be good to see him perform live. I am usually one for all live music needing a band. However, when it comes to Royce all he needs is a DJ. F*** it, Royce could just plug in his iPod and spit over that. It is all about his lyrics – come to think of it, him doing a Poetry Slam would be dope!
He plays at the Jazz Cafe on Saturday July 7th and tickets are £18.50 which is a fair price. Available from HMV Tickets.
