Song of the Week: The First Day of Autumn

Krystle Warren – The First Day of Autumn

So the first day is autumn is long past, however this song remains remarkable.  This is an old Krystle Warren record which she played at her gig on the Soho last week (more on that in a day or two) and it instantly captured my soul and imagination.  You can almost feel the leaves turning auburn brown as she sings – a watercolour is painted.  The casual drag on a cigarette before she sings helps set the scene – a simple record which which oozes a beauty.

I have a feeling this song now, as for many of those lucky enough to know it already, will become the record which forever signifies the transition from summer.  Love it.
