I had a big breakfast this morning so it wasn’t until the afternoon that I decided to make my smoothie today. By that time I was in need of something a little (let’s be honest now, very) indulgent. The fact that it’s a Friday only served to amplify the feeling even more.
I started to feel a bit guilty when I topped the raspberries with raspberry yoghurt and then reached for the cocoa-powder so I decided to mix in spinach to temper the feelings. I’m really glad I did add the spinach because it helped to mute to sweetness from the other ingredients and made for a more balanced drink in the end… plus spinach is like “super-healthy”.
Ingredients – all approximate
- 100g Raspberries
- A big healthy handful and a bit of Spinach
- 1 pot (125g) raspberry youghurt
- A teaspoon of cocoa-powder
- 6ish ice-cubes
- A sprinkle of cinnamon
Method
Blitz everything in the blender except the cinnamon, which I sprinkled on top at the end.
Next time I make this one I will probably experiment by mixing in the cinnamon with the other ingredients because it really complimented the other flavours. I ended up mixing it all up with my straw while drinking anyway.
