Food: Banana and Ginger Smoothie

In the short time I have been posting my experiments with smoothie making my thoughts on banana in drinks should be abundantly clear; I’m not a fan.  After today’s concoction those views may be changing because give the right supporting cast, even bananas can have a starring role in a smoothie!

The too many bananas quickly going ripe problem has occurred again so bananas needed to be used today and unfortunately I had little else to mix them with.  As it was p*ssing doing with rain, I didn’t feel the urge to walk to the local convenience store so had to make do with what was in the house.

Up until today, I strongly and vocally disliked the thought of bananas in smoothies, I saw then as a necessary evil.  My views may be changing as I really enjoyed drinking this one.

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • 1/4 avocado
  • About 1 1/2 teaspoons of fresh ginger
  • 5 tablespoons of vanilla yoghurt
  • 5-8 ice-cubes

Method

Blitz it all together in a blender until your heart is content.
