I have been loving Billie Black’s music while I have been on my little hiatus from blogging. I Waited For You temporarily blew my mind – lo-fi, bass heavy, soothing vocals with hypnotic details in the production.

She’s a young singer you can sense big things are on the horizon for. Following the likes of Banks and co. in to the electro influenced nu-R&B sound she’s been putting out hella good songs (all collected on her EP which was recently released). I have the feeling in about 12 months Billie Black will have at least a cult following (if not a mainstream one) and playing venues a lot bigger than the Old Blue Last.

She’s got bags of potential so now is probably a super time to see her.  The gig is on Thursday 4th December at The Old Blue Last.  Tickets are a bargain at £6 and available over on Billetto.

Expect to see musos and record industry fodder looking cool and talking through the set – even more of a sign she is on the verge of something special!  If you go, enjoy it!
