This is the first post in the, “what I remember from a gig I went to ages ago”, series! Thought I would start with Jagaara for reasons which will become obvious below. There is a mystery worthy of Miss Marple to be solved…
There is only one thing I remember about Jagaara’s performance at Proud Galleries one beautiful summer’s eve August 2014… Marble Arch. As far as I am concerned the rest of the set never even happened. I am sure it did, and on the basis on Marble Arch I am pretty sure it would have been cracking. However, that one song stuck with me.
Luckily, they had recently posted it to their Soundcloud page so I enjoyed it for a couple of days, it genuinely brought me joy. It was a core part of the soundtrack to some big changes in my life so I grew quite fond of it. Then one day it unexpectedly it disappeared! Just like that, a great moment in music gone without a trace. I wasn’t the only one to love this track, actual, real-life music blogs wrote about it (here, here, here… I could continue but I think you get my point).
So… Jagaara… if you are reading this please let the world know what happened to Marble Arch? Is it going to see the light of day? Have you decided to re-work it, and if so, will you release the “unmastered version” alongside the new bells and whistles version? Have you canned the track? Did you sell it to someone else? Was this track really a figment of my imagination? Do I have to call a dream team of Mulder and Scully, Columbo and Jessica Fletcher to solve this mystery?
Like I said, probably a great gig it’s just the mystery surrounding this missing song has clouded all memory and rational thinking about it.
